Types of Colored Contact Lens

Colored eye contacts are available in array of designs and colors that may allow you to fulfill your desire of having a colored eye of your type. Mostly people are found wearing colored contacts just to enhance their look or even match their eye color with their outfit.
Colored contacts comes in both prescription and Plano forms,
  • Prescription Colored Contacts allows you to correct your refractive error such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) or astigmatism while providing you with a colored eye.
  • Plano Colored Contacts are merely for fulfilling your desire of having a colored eye and it is worn when you have a perfect vision.
Types of Colored Contact Lens
The colored contact lens shape is developed in a way that gives you a natural look, just the same as if you had an innate colored eye. The color on the lens doesn’t cover the center (that comes on your pupil) in order to allow you to have a clear vision.
There are three types of colored lens:

Visibility Tint
This type of tint is lighter in color such as light blue or green that doesn’t change your eye color significantly while giving you a more natural look. Even though the lens don’t move as they are fitted to your eye shape but in some cases, such as blinking too many times, the colored part of the lens may cover a part of your pupil therefore when wearing visibility tints you may not find any difference in your vision.

For this type of tint, because it doesn’t completely change your eye color, there is no recommended natural eye color and can be used irrespective of how lighter or darker the iris of your eye is.

Enhancement Tint
A type of colored contact lens that has an enhancement tint which is slightly darker than a visibility tint; the lens type is stronger in color yet limpid. If you have a fancy to wear a colored lens that is noticeable at the very first look then going for this tint is your best bet.

As the tints are darker in color, the natural color of your eyes is intensified and most of the people go for this type of tint but it depends on your natural type of eye color. It is recommended to go for this type of tint if you have a light-colored eye.

Opaque Tint
Well this is the most noticeable type of tint out of all the other two types and it completely changes your eye color therefore, if you have a dark eye then you should go for this type.

Opaque tints are, as the name suggests, non-transparent and it is available in array of dramatic colors and designs. Might be wondering if such tints affects your vision, well no it doesn’t because the center of colored contactlens (where pupil lies) is transparent thus it only hides your natural eye color and changed the eye color downright.
However, it depends entirely on you but such type of tint is perfect match for a Halloween party and not something to be worn on daily basis although there are few colors that might complement your skin tone and enhance your look even further.
